Welcome to JAWS! In the course, you'll start off by learning the readings keys. These are going to be useful for getting JAWS to read text to you in the way that works best for you. With that skill covered, we'll move on to using Microsoft Outlook for sending and receiving emails, before doing some more in-depth work on accessing websites. By the end of the course, you'll be able to access your emails, use Google to find information on the internet, read through websites, enter information into forms, and assess websites you're encountering for the first time in order to develop strategies you can use to work with them.
I have been training people in how to use JAWS for over fifteen years. I currently provide training to a number of clients in the UK, including the NHS, local government, and various small and medium-sized businesses.
You'll need a full version of JAWS, and a full-sized keyboard with a number pad. Ideally you'll also have access to Microsoft Outlook (the application, not the web version). You should have Google Chrome installed, too.
